Smoke Out

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Those who have heard of my story about me, myself, having a bunch of cigarettes in my mouth smoking 10 sticks at one shot. Here’s the prove if you are skeptical about it.

It’s an article from NTUC Lifestyle magazine about this theatre act called Own Time Own Target by W!ld Rice. There’s an interview with my BMT section mate from 7BTS Delta company 1994 December batch, Rodney Mark Olivero.

Yes, Rodney is right. On the night before our P.O.P, 3SG Azlin gather all the smokers into one section (bunk) and request all the smokers to put 8 to 10 sticks of cigarette in their mouth and light those cigarettes up as a punishment.

RIP – 2nd Lt. Nicholas Chan Wei Kit

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

While on my way to withdraw some cash at the nearest ATM, I bumped into my neighbour, Rudy. He just attended a wake of his ex-schoolmate and OCS trainee, 2Lt Nicholas Chan Wei Kit. He was pinned under a SAF jeep at Seletar Camp yesterday afternoon.

According Rudy, 22 years old 2Lt Nicholas Chan has only been commissioned as an officer for 3 months. I would not blog further as this case is still under investigation by MINDEF. You can read the news article about the unfortunate accident here.

Out Processed!

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Finally out processed from my In-camp-training and still left 4 more to go. It was nice in the same duty shift with Jimmy, Kwan and Guan Teck for the past 3 and a half weeks.

Hope to see you guys in the next ICT, of course we still can meet up as civilians… lol.

Eve of Out Processing

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

It’s the eve of my ICT out processing day. Actually wanted to get the LG Arena phone at Far East Plaza but decided to shelf off the plan as it does not comes with a hardware keyboard and read a few bad reviews regarding the lagging interface. So in the end went out for lunch at the hawker center near my place.

It’s kind of funny after lunching out for the pass few days, I found that hawker food starts to sucks. Maybe I’m gonna start cooking my own lunch this Thursday and Friday as I will be on leave till Monday when I will be back at work. And eating boring hawker food again :(

Ending Soon

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Finally my In-camp-training is coming to an end soon. This morning was the last sentry duty I had with the friendly guys at Changi Air Base, East, Field Defense Squadron.

We had a barbecue last night to celebrate Sergent Victor’s birthday, it was hell lot of fun as the active guys took bucket of water to splash onto him. The atmosphere is like Songkran festival.

Ok… gotta stop here as my stomach is protesting.

Great to be home :)

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

It’s great to be home after 2 days of duties. For my this and previous reservist, I’ve been doing sentry duty due to lack of active manpower.

Initially, I thought that doing sentry duty will be mentally and physically draining but it doesn’t seems so as we get lot of rest during our 48 hours of duty. In this 48 hours, we will be 15 hours of duties and it’s split in a way that some will do 6 hours of duty, rest 12 hours, 6 hours of duty and rest 6 or 12 hours and follow by last 3 hours of duty and after that rest until book out.

At least doing duty is better than staying out-field for days just to wait for “enemy” to infiltrate the base. Praying that my remaining 4 cycle of ICT will be duty based ;)

Eve of In-camp-training

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Tomorrow is my first day of in-camp-training. Good to meet up my NS friends again especially those whom I know since NSF day.

Gotta head to bed now as I gotta wake up early to book-in tomorrow.
